In the weeks leading up to the event, students create their own kites in art class. On Kite Day, families gather for lunch on the pitch, the whole school sings together in the gym, and then students, staff, and families head down to Riverdale Park to fly their kites. It’s a day full of creativity, connection, and celebration, and one that Montcrest alum love returning to year after year to help keep the tradition alive.
