We have some exciting news to share! Montcrest is launching a new Community Garden Project that will become the center of our evolving signature programming. This project will focus on promoting environmental sustainability, social responsibility, life skills, food sustainability, farming, and cooking. All students, regardless of their grade, will have the opportunity to benefit from this program. Additionally, the space is being designed to serve as a community hub for gatherings of all kinds, making it a special setting for everyone at Montcrest.
Phase 1 of the outdoor space at the rear of 664 Broadview Avenue will include, but is not limited to:
- Outdoor Kitchen with BBQs, pizza ovens, and space for students to prep, cook and serve food
- Greenhouse for growing fruit, vegetables, flowers and herbs
- Firepit with a patio and seating area for community events
Recent major gifts from two Montcrest families have injected momentum into the project, inspiring other families to join them in giving to the campaign. Construction is scheduled to begin this summer.

Families can show their support by purchasing a personalized leaf or bird, which will become part of a special installation within the garden, honouring our generous donors.
